Photos from Day One's Challenges:

Taking THIS IS NOT A BOOK everywhere with me, here I am on the computer. We have also visited the kitchen, the living room and the shops!

Making a disguise for THIS IS NOT A BOOK I tried a pot holder:

But lastly settled on a foolproof sign to throw anyone off the scent:

Blog 2 – So Far...

Ok so I know it's only been a little while since learning my first day's challenges but I have already begun carrying them out so I thought I report back. I have successfully created a disguise for THIS IS NOT A BOOK. After trying with a pot holder and a lunch bag I settled for a sign on the front, throwing anyone of the scent. I also carried out the test of endurance and held the book above my head for over 11 minutes, which I think is pretty good (side note I found a website that is a stop watch, they have everything on the internet these days!) I am still carrying out the inconvenience of keeping the book with me at all times, that's a week long one so I've still got a little while to go. Plus I will put up the recording device page once I finished recording today's day.

I've just read my 7 pages for today, it will involve glue, paper, scissors and colouring in pencils. Yay!!

Oh the coolest thing ever happened after I googled the author of THIS IS NOT A BOOK, Keri Smith, I emailed her the details of this little blog and she watched it and emailed back!! So awesome! It's like Julie & Julia but with glue, paper, scissors and colouring in pencils. For more details about Keri Smith and the book which is not a book check out http://www.kerismith.com/ and also check out the how to be a guerrilla artist section because it is such an awesome idea.

Day One

Day one video is up:
I am following a book called 'THIS IS NOT A BOOK' by Keri Smith. Well it is a book Ms Smith, it has a little task on each page that the reader must carry out to their imagination's content. I will be finishing the book in a month so I am doing about 7 pages a day. The first seven pages had the following tasks:

1. Keep the book with me in clear view at all times for a week.
2. Create a disguise to hide the book's identity.
3. Hold the book up above my head and record the time.

So far so a little bit tricky.

First video is up and viewable!!

Blog 1: What’s All This Then?

Internet services like blogs and YouTube in particular are about reading and watching people do things that you wouldn't do yourself. So lets make it a little more specific. If there is something in particular that you wouldn't or might do but want someone else to do it first, let me know. Give me an idea, set me a challenge or ask me to try something new. I'm mostly interested in the challenge. Is there a New Year's resolution that you made a month ago but you already predict you are not going to go through with? Let me know it, I'll give it a go. I've never completed a New Year's resolution maybe it'll be different if I try someone else's! From March onwards I will set up a monthly challenge or goal and blog and vlog about it until I complete the challenge. So tie those thinking caps on and challenge me, get me to do something at the end of the month that I can't already do, or get me to go a whole month without doing something or go a whole month doing something differently. And not just the bran for breakfast challenge something crazy or anything you and others including me would get a kick out of. Make it funny, make is serious, make it sporty or musical or charity or greedy. At the end of the month I'll have accomplished something and you'll have had a giggle.

So here are some things that may or may not sway your challenge:

  • I am 24 years old.
  • I am female.
  • I live in Sydney, Australia
  • I am employed and therefore broke
  • I only own a low quality camera
  • I have no contacts to famous people
  • I have a Certificate III in Acting
  • My Cert III in Acting has got me nowhere so now I am getting a Cert III in Admin
  • I can play the piano and the guitar
  • I am hopeless and video games and am perfectly fine with that
  • I am an eco warrior or environmentalist or a hippie whatever you're comfortable with
  • I am a ranga (or red head for anyone unfamiliar with the term ranga)
  • I am very bored being unemployed

Anything else you want to know?
